So I live in North Dakota, and it is like totally flooding right now (not my house thankfully). Why now do the people in my school want to help? Why do we have to be in a state of disaster to want to help people? Why can't we just help people everyday? Disasters just give us a little shove, but if you're leaning back against a shove, you fall backwards once more. If everyone would just make an effort in their (so cliche, sorry) little acts of random kindness you could save more than one life in your lifetime. I know coming from someone like me its like "what are you saying?" But I want to help, I want to make a difference. Natural disasters shouldn't have to give us that push, we should be pushing ourselves.
